On June 12, 2021, a reporter from the Road Network learned at the construction site of Heyi Village, Heping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, that the last section of the 500-meter rail on the Guangdong section of the Ganshen High-speed Railway was slowly pulled forward by a track laying machine and fell steadily. On the ballastless track slab, the laying is in place. So far, the Guangdong section of the Ganshen high-speed railway is successfully connected to the Jiangxi section. This marks the successful completion of the main track laying of the Ganshen high-speed railway and laid a solid foundation for the full-scale operation at the end of 2021.

Ganshen High Speed Rail

The Ganzhou-Shenzhen Railway starts from Ganzhou in the north, and connects to Shenzhen in the south. It runs through Ganzhou in Jiangxi and Heyuan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and other places in Guangdong. The main line is 436.37 kilometers in length, of which the Guangdong section is about 301.8 kilometers in length. The designed maximum speed is 350 kilometers per hour. , There are 14 stations on the whole line.

The Ganshen Railway was constructed under the overall planning of China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group. Among them, China Railway Fourth Bureau undertook the task of laying 704.9 kilometers of track for the Guangdong section of Ganshen Railway. It is understood that under the careful planning of the Shenzhen Engineering Construction Headquarters, the Ganshen Railway No. 5 Project Headquarters of China Railway Fourth Bureau invested 4 sets of jointly developed railway ballasted and ballastless track laying integrated track laying units to achieve ballasted and ballastless tracks. The free switching of the traction mode makes it easy and quick to complete the track-laying operation combining the section line and the inner line, which comprehensively improves the efficiency of the track-laying operation and ensures the quality of construction and the construction period of the node.

In order to ensure the safety and efficiency of the construction of the engineering line, the Shenzhen Engineering Construction Headquarters adopts the engineering line dispatching and command system to carry out all-round and three-dimensional management of the on-site vehicle dispatching, effectively coping with complex engineering such as long engineering line management intervals and multi-unit crossing operations. In addition, on the basis of ensuring the safety of traffic on the engineering line, the efficiency of traffic dispatching has been greatly improved. At the same time, the Shenzhen Engineering Construction Headquarters formulated and issued the "Gan-Shen Railway Engineering Line Construction Management Measures" to clarify the transportation and construction safety management of the engineering line, and standardize the safety management and control of the engineering line transportation and on-site operations.

A construction monitoring officer is stationed on the whole line every 8 kilometers, and on-site protection personnel are arranged at each operation point to keep an eye on the scene to ensure construction, driving and personal safety. Ganshen Railway and Tangxia Station (Dongguan South Railway Station) Ganshen Railway is a part of the Beijing-Kowloon High-speed Railway which is one of the main passages of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network in the "Medium and Long-term Railway Network Planning". The Beijing-Kowloon High-speed Railway consists of Beijing-Xiong (Beijing-Xiong’an) Intercity Railway, Xiongshang (Xiongan-Shangqiu) High-speed Railway, Shangqiu-Hefei Section of Shanghe-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, He’an Jiu (Hefei via Anqing to Jiujiang) High-speed Railway, Changjiu ( Nanchang-Jiujiang) passenger train, Changgan (Nanchang-Ganzhou) high-speed railway, Ganshen (Ganzhou-Shenzhen) high-speed railway, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway Shenzhen-Hong Kong section.

The Ganshen high-speed rail is the southernmost line of the China-Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail corridor in China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed rail networks. It is expected to open and operate at the end of 2021. At that time, the operating time between Jiangxi and Shenzhen will be reduced from about 7 hours to about 2 hours at the fastest. This will further shorten the time and space distance between Jiangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay, and Heyuan City, Guangdong will also end the history of the lack of high-speed rail. At the same time, it is also the main artery of high-speed rail that shortens the time and space distance between the former Central Soviet Area of Guangdong and Jiangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and is a new driving force for rural revitalization in northeastern Guangdong.
