Project Overview

The Naba Highway Project starts from Nalati Town, Xinyuan County, and connects with the existing G218 line from Yining to Nalati Expressway. Baluntai Town is connected to the Urumqi-Yuli Expressway of the G0711 line under construction, with a total length of 215.391 kilometers.

The Naba Highway Project is located in the hinterland of the Tianshan Mountains. It is an important part of the main skeleton network of the "six horizontal, six vertical, seven hubs, and eight channels" expressways in the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Xinjiang's transportation. It can reach Urumqi via Wuwei Expressway in the north. It is an important channel connecting the northern and southern Xinjiang, and it is also an auxiliary channel for the Lianhuo Expressway of the G30 line.

Projects resume work

On May 16, 2022, at the construction site of the Naba Highway Project, excavators were working hard to excavate, graders followed closely to level the road, and water trucks shuttled back and forth to sprinkle water. All construction procedures were advanced in an orderly manner. Located in the Aiken Tunnel Exit Work Area of the Fifth Bid Section of Naba Highway, Elezaite Ulu Township, Hejing County, workers are carrying out operations such as bolting, reinforced mesh laying, cement concrete spraying, etc., to carry out tunnel opening protection construction construction.

Promote economic and social development

The scenery along the project is beautiful and the tourism resources are rich. After completion, it will become a convenient passage between the Ili River Valley and Korla in southern Xinjiang, and the driving time between Nalati and Baluntai will be shortened from the current 5 hours to 2 hours.

The pilot section of the project started last year, and the project is constructed according to the standard of four-lane first-class highway, with a planned construction period of 5 years.
