Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued a notice on printing and distributing the third batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base construction projects list focusing on deserts, Gobi, and desert areas. Among them, the Huaneng Binzhou New Energy photovoltaic power generation project was included in the third batch of large-scale photovoltaic bases in the country. This is the first project in Binzhou to be included in a national base, and it is also the first Lubei base project in Binzhou that has the conditions to start construction in recent years.

Binzhou Huaneng Binzhou New Energy Photovoltaic Power Generation Project is located in Binhai Town, Zhanhua District, east of Taoer River, west of Shunjiang Ditch, south of Phase II tide-proof embankment, north of Phase-I tide-proof dam, close to Bohai Bay, about 50 meters away from Zhanhua City km, covering an area of about 19,800 mu. In January 2023, the project was included in the 2023 key tasks of the Shandong Provincial Government to build a green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot zone, and in March, it was included in the three-year action plan for green, low-carbon and high-quality development of energy in Shandong Province (2023-2025).

It is reported that the project is jointly developed and constructed by Huaneng Zhanhua New Energy Co., Ltd. and Binzhou New Energy Group Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 5.6 billion yuan, a planned installed capacity of 850,000 kilowatts, and the construction of a 220 kV booster station, according to 30% 2 Configure energy storage facilities every hour. The project plans to start construction in June 2023, and put into operation at full capacity in 2024.
After the project is put into operation, the annual power generation will be 1.337 billion kWh, and the equivalent full-load hours will be 1303.17 hours. It can save 411,000 tons of standard coal per year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.235 million tons, sulfur dioxide by about 11,000 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 6,000 tons tons, which will play a positive role in promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of energy.
