On June 26, 2023, Sichuan Shudao Railway Investment Group Co., Ltd. released a public announcement on the candidate for the successful bidder of the feasibility study preparation service for the new Nanchong Guang'an Railway project. It marks that the preliminary work of the feasibility study of the Nanchong Guang'an Inter-city rail is about to start and is expected to start construction during the "14th Five Year Plan" period.

This project has been included in the key early stage work project of Sichuan Province in 2023. Under the condition that Chengdu Dazhou Wanzhou High speed Railway and West Chongqing High speed Railway have been fully started, it is of great significance to speed up the preliminary work of the Nanjing Guangzhou Inter-city rail and implement relevant access projects in advance. The project construction can fully integrate cities in the Northeast Sichuan Economic Zone into the Chengdu Chongqing high-speed rail network layout. At that time, direct high-speed rail transportation from Guang'an to Chengdu and Nanchong to Chongqing will be achieved, and railway travel time will be further shortened.

Project Overview

The newly-built Nanchong Guang'an Railway is located in the middle east of Sichuan Basin. The project is led from Nanchong North railway station of Chengdu Dazhou Wanzhou High speed Railway and connected to Guang'an East Station of Yuxi High speed Railway via Nanchong and Guang'an in Sichuan.
