A delegation led by Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk revealed to reporters on Tuesday the nuclear energy cooperation discussed by the two sides after their meeting with US President Joe Biden. The meeting not only deepened the strategic relationship between Poland and the United States, but also opened a new path for cooperation in the field of clean energy.

Poland, as an important country in Europe, has been working hard in recent years to find ways to reduce carbon emissions and phase out coal in order to achieve the dual goals of sustainable development and environmental protection. In this context, the Polish government has decided to invest in the nuclear energy sector in order to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and promote the development of clean energy in the future.

To achieve this goal, the Polish government chose Westinghouse Electric as the technology supplier for its nuclear energy program. The company has extensive experience and advanced technology in the field of nuclear energy and is able to provide Poland with reliable nuclear energy solutions. Subsequently, Westinghouse partnered with Bechtel, the largest engineering company in the United States, to further enhance the professionalism and feasibility of the Polish nuclear energy project.

While confirming Poland's need for nuclear power, Mr Tusk's cabinet said it would conduct a careful review of the nuclear programme launched by his predecessor. This shows the cautious attitude of the Polish government in advancing the nuclear energy project and the great importance it attaches to the quality and safety of the project.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said after the talks that he would soon travel to the U.S. state of Georgia to visit its most modern nuclear power plant. He stressed that the planned nuclear power plant in Poland will be very similar to the project in the United States, and hopes to develop deep cooperation with the United States in conventional nuclear energy and climate protection.

Poland plans to build its first nuclear power plant on the Baltic coast by 2033. This project is of great significance for Poland, which will not only promote the transformation of its energy structure, but also inject new impetus into the economic development of Poland. At the same time, it will also set a new benchmark for Poland in the international field of clean energy, demonstrating its determination and strength in combating climate change and achieving sustainable development.

With the growing global demand for clean energy, nuclear energy cooperation between Poland and the United States will undoubtedly bring broad development prospects and huge business opportunities for the two countries. In the future, the two countries will continue to deepen cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, jointly promote the development of clean energy and contribute their own strength to the sustainable development of the world.
