With the continuous development of urban construction, the renovation and upgrading of old communities has become an important measure to improve the quality of life of residents. Recently, the 2024 renovation project of old communities in Dongsheng District was officially launched. Among them, the Armed Forces Family Building was the first renovation project to start construction on May 9.

The Armed Forces Family Building was built in 1998 and has one building and 40 households. Due to its age, the community has problems such as poor drainage, damaged roads, and falling tiles from the roof, which has brought a lot of inconvenience to residents' lives. In order to solve these problems, Dongsheng District is actively promoting the renovation project of old communities and plans to renovate and upgrade multiple communities including the armed forces family buildings.

At the renovation site of the Armed Forces Ministry's family building, the reporter saw construction workers busy digging out floor bricks, measuring the location of cables, and upgrading pipes and floors. According to the plan, the ground renovation of the community will be completed before June. The renovation project covers many aspects such as roads and hardened paving, power supply and distribution lines, gas supply, domestic waste classification, drainage pipe network replacement, fire protection, and the regularization of overhead wires into the ground. The total planned investment in the project is approximately 565,100 yuan.

In order to further accelerate the implementation of the renovation project of old communities, Dongsheng District plans to renovate and upgrade 44 communities built before 2000, benefiting 3,770 households. The scope of renovation and new construction includes infrastructure such as underground three networks, community hardening, domestic waste classification, fire protection, and bicycle sheds. At present, the construction of old communities where residents have raised their own funds, such as the Armed Forces Family Building, Sanwan Xiao Family Building, and Huamin Community, has started one after another. All renovation projects are scheduled to be completed in November.

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the renovation work of old communities, Dongsheng District adheres to the principle of reforming all the basic types when necessary, reforming as many as possible in the improvement type, and making every effort to promote the improvement type. By clarifying goal requirements, quantifying transformation tasks, and refining implementation steps, a work promotion mechanism for collaborative cooperation among various departments is formed.
