On May 16, 2024, two public schools rebuilt with China's assistance were handed over to Doraka County, Nepal. At the same time, the Chinese side donated book shelves, books and love bags to the schools.

Speaking at the handover ceremony held there, the head of the Doraka District education Department, Shankar Babu Shrestha, said that the new school building with fully equipped classrooms, laboratories, computer LABS, libraries, dormitories, etc., is "a symbol of friendship between two friendly countries."

Xie Yu, counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, said in his speech that China has always attached great importance to China-Nepal cooperation in education and human resources, including helping Nepal build a number of schools in recent years. Dolaka's assistance will transform the lives of local children and fulfill China's long-term commitment to help Nepal achieve prosperity and sustainable development.

Two public schools in Dolakajiru and Singati districts were damaged in the 2015 earthquake. According to the aid agreement signed by the Chinese and Nepalese governments, the sixth Hydropower Bureau of China Power Construction Group has carried out the demolition and reconstruction of the two schools, and the main construction of the two schools are two teaching buildings, a dormitory building and a canteen. The two schools have 874 and 570 students, respectively.

At the handover ceremony, the sixth Hydropower Bureau, together with China Rural Development Foundation and Yunnan Energy Investment Co., Ltd. donated book shelves and books to the two schools, and China Rural Development Foundation distributed love bags to the students. Editor/Wang Tian
