On June 21, 2024, the first batch of equipment cargo for the Templers Energy Storage Project in South Australia, Australia, which was constructed by China Energy Construction Shanxi Electric Power Construction, was successfully collected at the Phase 2 Terminal of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area and sent to the destination.

The Templers Energy Storage Project in Australia is located in the small town of Templers in South Australia, 3.5 kilometers west of Frelin and about 54 kilometers north of Adelaide. The project covers a total area of 2.7 hectares, with a planned operating period of 25 years, and will use advanced containerized lithium-ion battery technology to achieve its total energy storage target of 138MW/330MWh.

The entire project plans to ship equipment cargo in five batches, including a total of 164 containers, including LC cabinets, isolation cabinets, auxiliary accessories and spare parts. The total volume of these containers is 13,279 cubic meters, with a total net weight of 4,531 tons. It is expected that the shipment of all equipment will be completed on October 20, 2024.

Once completed, the project will make great use of the abundant solar energy resources in the small town of Templers, South Australia, and stably supply clean electricity to the power grid. This will not only help optimize the security and stability of the power grid, but also significantly improve the energy structure and significantly reduce carbon emissions, which is of far-reaching significance for promoting the economy to develop in a greener and more sustainable direction.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
