On July 25, 2024, the PPA agreement for the Jwaneng 100MW photovoltaic power station investment project in Botswana was signed at the Botswana Power Authority. David Kgoboko, Director of the Botswana Power Authority, Edward Rugoyi, General Manager of the Power Generation Department, and the person in charge of the project company attended the signing ceremony.

This project is Botswana's first large-scale clean energy project of 100 megawatts. It is of great significance to promote the development of national green electricity, promote the development of industry and mining, and enhance the national economy. It is also a key measure to achieve Botswana's 2036 clean energy development plan.

The project leader said that the project company will take the signing of the PPA as a starting point to accelerate the closure of project financing and the start of construction, adhere to the goals of high efficiency and high-quality development, contribute to the development of clean energy in Botswana, and work together to create a model of China-Africa green energy cooperation.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
