China's leading provider of renewable energy solutions, Far East Energy, has recently reached a strategic partnership with Australian developer FERA Australia to jointly develop a comprehensive renewable energy project in Australia, with a total scale of up to 1GW of wind power and 1.5GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The cooperation agreement was officially signed during the Australian Energy and Wind Energy Conference held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, marking that both parties will work together to create a benchmark project for wind storage integration.

Yuanjing Energy stated that this cooperation fully demonstrates its global competitiveness in wind storage integrated solutions. This solution covers advanced wind turbines, containerized energy storage systems, grid type energy storage power conversion systems (PCS), and Far East's self-developed hybrid power plant controller (HPPC), which can provide full chain technical support for hybrid power plant projects. As a pilot, Victoria will be the first to launch a grid connected hybrid power project, using Far East Energy's full power inverter wind turbines, grid connected battery energy storage, and HPPC technology. The specific timetable has not yet been announced. In the future, all hybrid projects will be connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM) covering the eastern and southern coasts of Australia and Tasmania.

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President and International Product Line President of Farview Energy, stated, "This cooperation is an important step for Farview Energy to expand into the Australian market. Wind storage integration is a key path to enhance the flexibility and stability of the power system, and FERA Australia highly trusts our strength in wind power, energy storage, and grid integration technology, which is a recognition of Farview's global project delivery capabilities. We look forward to working together with FERA Australia to promote Australia's energy transition. ”

FERA Australia was founded in 2019 and is the regional branch of Italian wind energy developer FERA SRL in Australia. Headquartered in Melbourne, it is committed to developing Australia's abundant wind energy resources. According to its official website, the company is currently advancing four wind power projects in Victoria with a total installed capacity of 1098MW. Sebastian Falesi, Head of FERA Australia and a member of the FERA Group Board of Directors, emphasized that "the cooperation with Far East Energy is an important milestone for us to develop large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. The wind storage hybrid model will become a model for future project development, and Far East Energy's technology and experience will provide solid guarantees for the high performance and reliability of the projects

This cooperation is the latest initiative of Far East Energy to deepen its business in the Asia Pacific region. Last month, the company reached a cooperation agreement with Indonesian renewable energy company SUN Terra to jointly develop energy storage solutions in Southeast Asia, India, and Australia, aiming to promote the localization of energy storage technology and supply chain optimization. In addition, at the beginning of this year, Far East Energy also signed an agreement with Juniper Green Energy in India to provide it with a 320MWh battery energy storage system.

On a global scale, Far East Energy continues to expand its business territory. Recently, the company launched the construction of a gigawatt wind turbine and energy storage plant in Kazakhstan, with a total investment of 40 million US dollars. After completion, the annual production capacity will reach 2GW wind turbines and 1GWh energy storage integrated systems, further consolidating its leading position in the global renewable energy field.

This cooperation will not only promote the construction of renewable energy infrastructure in Australia, but also set an example of high-quality cooperation for Chinese enterprises in overseas markets. Through technological innovation and localized collaboration, Far East Energy is contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to the global energy transition.
