On June 10, 2026, Three Gorges Energy announced that the company's board of directors had approved the relevant investment plan and launched the first batch of 700000 kilowatt wind power construction projects for the 1 million kilowatt new energy project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. This project is one of the few large-scale commercial practices of pure off grid wind power in China, and it further improves the company's industrial layout in the western region of Mongolia.

The project is located in Ordos, with a total planned installed capacity of one million kilowatts. The construction section of this project adopts a completely off grid operation mode, without relying on the public power grid, and the electricity can be locally consumed and diversified.

The operation mode of fully off grid combined with a high proportion of renewable energy will become the mainstream technology direction for the development of wind solar hydrogen production, green ammonia, and green chemical industry in the future. The initial investment of the project amounts to several billion yuan, and after completion, the annual power generation can exceed 2 billion kilowatt hours, saving 600000 tons of standard coal annually and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.6 million tons.
