Recently, Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., as the leading party, and TEDIS(Transport Engineering Design Joint Stock Incorporated South)、PCC(Portcoast Consultant Corporation) A consortium was formed with ARTELIA (ARTELIA Soci é t é par actions simplifi é e) to officially sign a contract with the Ho Chi Minh City Subway Management Committee for the Binh Thanh section of Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2.

The project is named "Feasibility Study Report Preparation, Front end Engineering Design, and Procurement Services Project for the Adjustment of Binh Thanh to Thanh Long Section of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Rail Transit Line 2 in Vietnam", with a total contract amount of 175441175000 Vietnamese Dong. According to the agreement, the consortium will undertake a series of important tasks including feasibility study of line adjustment, front-end engineering design, and equipment procurement services.

This signing is the first time that a Chinese design unit has directly entered the field of urban rail transit engineering in Vietnam through a general contracting model. It marks a significant progress for Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute in international market competition, and also reflects the comprehensive strength of the enterprise in rail transit consulting, design, and general contracting services, which has been highly recognized by the international market.

The project is not only a key step for Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute to implement the "going out" strategy of Chinese enterprises and deeply participate in the construction of national infrastructure jointly built along the the Belt and Road, but also lays a solid foundation for further opening up the rail transit market in Southeast Asia from 2025, and has important demonstration significance for China's technology and service output in the future.
