Recently, the bidding process for the Anqing Haikou Yangtze River Bridge franchise project (three times) has been successfully concluded, and this highly anticipated transportation hub is expected to officially start construction in November. After the completion of the bridge, it will become the seventh dual-use highway and railway bridge in Anhui Province, and the most upstream bridge of its kind in the Anhui section of the Yangtze River, injecting strong impetus into regional transportation development.

Anqing Haikou Yangtze River Bridge is located between Anqing City and Chizhou City. As a key transportation infrastructure project in Anhui Province, it bears the important task of the trinity of national railway, expressway and first-class highway, and its strategic position is self-evident.
From the perspective of design specifications, the bridge is uniquely designed. Adopting a double decker cable-stayed bridge design, it showcases the exquisite and atmospheric modern engineering technology. The upper level highway deck is planned as a two-way 6-lane expressway, with a total length of 17.5 kilometers, including 13.1 kilometers of newly built routes; The layout of the lower layer is ingenious. In the middle is an Anjing railway channel with two reserved lines, and on both sides are two-way four lane first-class highway, with a total length of 9.44km. Its main span reaches 1100 meters, ranking fifth in the world and fourth in China among similar bridges, demonstrating the outstanding strength of bridge construction in China.

In terms of transportation connectivity, the bridge has significant advantages. The upper expressway is seamlessly connected with G4231 Nanjing Jiujiang Expressway, and the lower first-class highway is closely connected with G347 and G206. The reserved Anjing railway channel has unlimited potential, and in the long run, it can introduce the Beijing Hong Kong high-speed railway and the Nanjing Anqing intercity railway, thus forming a cross river hub integrating high-speed rail and public transportation. The completion of this hub will effectively optimize the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network in Anhui Province, open up a new Yangtze River Delta Yangtze River Midstream Expressway for the southern Anhui, northern Jiangxi, and eastern Hubei regions, accelerate the flow of people, logistics, and information between regions, and promote the in-depth implementation of the development strategy of one river, two banks, and supporting the river.
