Recently, the 1 × 660MW cogeneration expansion project of Huadian Dandong Jinshan Thermal Power Phase II officially kicked off in the substation village of Tongxing Town, Zhen'an District. This project carries multiple missions and is a crucial step in the development of Dandong's energy sector.

This project actively responds to the national strategic deployment to strengthen the role of thermal power as a backup guarantee, and is a key project in optimizing the energy structure, improving the ecological environment, and ensuring heating for people's livelihoods in Dandong. The total investment of the project is 3.207 billion yuan, with a grand scale. It will expand one 660MW ultra supercritical direct current coal powder boiler, one 660MW ultra supercritical primary intermediate reheating heating steam turbine, and one 660MW hydrogen cooled generator. At the same time, in order to implement the concept of green development, simultaneous construction of flue gas desulfurization, denitrification, dust removal facilities, as well as supporting cooling facilities and coal transportation facilities, will be carried out to ensure that the project minimizes its impact on the environment during operation.

From the perspective of people's livelihood, the project is expected to be officially put into operation in September 2027. After completion, it will further expand the coverage of centralized heating in the city, effectively alleviate the situation of heating heat shortage, and allow more residents to enjoy warmth in the cold winter, contributing to the development of a livable city in Northeast China.

In terms of energy development, this project has innovative significance. It is linked with offshore wind power projects, building a coal-fired power peak shaving+green power production system, and creating a new model of coordinated development of "traditional energy cleanliness+new energy scale" in Liaoning Province, providing a reference for the province's energy transformation.

As a key project of Dandong's 14th Five Year Plan and the Three Year Action Plan for Comprehensive Revitalization, the Huadian Dandong Jinshan Thermal Power Phase II 1 × 660MW cogeneration expansion project will play an important role in promoting industrial development, improving people's livelihoods, and helping Dandong achieve high-quality development.
