Recently, the Guoxuan High tech New Lithium ion Battery Intelligent Manufacturing Base project with a total investment of 4 billion yuan was officially laid in the Liuhe Economic Development Zone in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The implementation of this project not only marks the further upgrading of Guoxuan High Tech's production capacity layout in Nanjing, but also becomes a key milestone for it to sprint towards the global new energy battery industry highland, injecting strong impetus into Nanjing's creation of a "global new energy industry highland".

As the location of Guoxuan High Tech's largest global production capacity base, Nanjing Liuhe's new project has a planned production capacity of 20GWh and a construction period of no more than 24 months. The site is located in the area west of Longxuhu Road and south of Qiliqiao Road, with a land area of 109 hectares. From a production capacity of 2GWh when the first project was launched in 2015, to a cumulative investment of over 10 billion yuan and a total production capacity of nearly 50GWh today, Nanjing Guoxuan has gradually built a full chain production system covering battery cells, modules, and battery packs with a growth rate of one new project every two years. This new base will focus on the production of new types of lithium-ion batteries, further filling the gap in production capacity and strengthening its supporting capabilities for downstream car companies.

Based on nearly 30 years of experience in lithium battery research and manufacturing, the new project will fully implement the concept of "intelligent manufacturing+green manufacturing" and create a benchmark factory in the industry. The production end will introduce Axtrek industrial AI intelligent agent independently developed by Guoxuan High tech, integrating digital twin, Internet of Things, 5G and other Industry 4.0 technologies to achieve full process digital control from raw material entry to finished product exit. Equipped with intelligent fully automatic production lines, the localization rate of core equipment reaches 100%, which can accurately match the production needs of various new types of batteries such as lithium manganese iron phosphate and quasi solid state batteries. It is expected that the yield rate of battery cells will remain stable at over 96%, and the production efficiency will reach the leading level in the industry. In terms of green production, the project will draw on the experience of zero carbon factory construction, plan supporting solar power generation systems to compensate for grid energy consumption, and strive to achieve full coverage of green energy in the production process.

From the perspective of technological layout, the new project carries the important mission of Guoxuan High tech's industrialization of new batteries. The base will focus on the production, iteration, and upgrading of the "Qichen Second Generation" manganese iron phosphate lithium battery. The battery's energy density has risen to 240Wh/kg, supporting 10 minute fast charging, and maintaining a capacity retention rate of up to 93% in a -20 ℃ low temperature environment. It can meet the range requirements of pure electric vehicles at 850 kilometers and hybrid vehicles at over 1500 kilometers. At the same time, reserve a production line for quasi solid state batteries to provide production capacity support for the G Yuan quasi solid state battery (with an energy density of over 300Wh/kg and a range of over 1000 kilometers) that is about to complete on-board testing, accelerating the market-oriented landing of next-generation battery technology.

The construction of the project will generate significant industrial drive and economic and social benefits. The construction period is expected to create over 2000 job opportunities, and after production, it will form an industrial cluster integrating production and manufacturing, technology research and development, and supply chain support, further consolidating the construction foundation of the Liuhe "hundred billion level new energy industry cluster". Currently, the scale of the new energy industry in the region has accelerated towards 60 billion yuan. In terms of industrial chain collaboration, the project will drive the aggregation of upstream and downstream enterprises such as cathode materials, electrolytes, and precision structural components, and form linkage with the global supply chain base that Guoxuan has already established, building an independent and controllable industrial ecology.

This foundation laying is a microcosm of Guoxuan High Tech's global capacity expansion strategy. At present, the company's ongoing projects both domestically and internationally involve a total production capacity planning of over 100 GWh, covering multiple major projects such as the Anhui Wuhu 20GWh base, the Slovakia super factory, and the Morocco new energy base. Compared with the total shipment volume of 63 GWh in 2024, the expansion efforts are highlighted. Li Zhen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guoxuan High Tech, stated that the new project is a new starting point for the 10th anniversary development of Nanjing Guoxuan, and will continue to use technological innovation and capacity upgrading as engines to assist regional industrial upgrading and global energy transformation.

At present, the project has completed the preliminary planning and land approval, and is accelerating the construction preparation work. By 2027, the base will become the core hub for the transformation of Guoxuan High Tech's new battery technology, providing power batteries for over 300000 new energy vehicles annually and high-performance energy storage solutions for the energy storage field.
