On November 11, 2025, a grand groundbreaking ceremony in Borja, Croatia marked the official launch of the Borja Godiniac Expressway project, which was constructed by China Road and Bridge Corporation. This infrastructure project, with a total length of 14.75 kilometers and a contract amount of 160 million euros, is another major project undertaken by China Road and Bridge Corporation in Croatia after the Pele š ac Bridge, and is currently the second largest infrastructure construction project in Croatia after the Pele š ac Bridge.

Croatian Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Butkovic fully affirmed the professional capabilities of China Road and Bridge Corporation in his speech. He stated that China Road and Bridge Corporation has demonstrated its outstanding technical strength and contractual capabilities by successfully delivering the Pele š ac Bridge, a major project that the Croatian people have been eagerly anticipating for many years. He believes that the new expressway project will also be completed on schedule with high quality. Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin has high hopes for the project, hoping that Chinese companies will continue to overcome difficulties and make it a new model of cooperation between China and Croatia, further promoting the development of friendly relations between the two countries.

This expressway connecting Borja and Godiniac will not only greatly improve the transportation conditions in Borja Slavonia province, providing more convenient travel options for local residents, but also effectively promote the economic development and tourism resource development of the areas along the route by improving the regional road network structure.
