The general contracting project for the second section of the first phase passenger hub of Sanya International Cruise Port has officially started, marking a critical implementation stage for the construction of this core cruise hub of Hainan Free Trade Port. As a key project for Sanya to build an international coastal tourism consumption center, the launch of the project will further improve the hardware facilities of Sanya International Cruise Port, enhance the port's reception capacity and service quality, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Hainan's cruise industry.

The project is located in the surrounding sea and land areas of Fenghuang Island in Tianya District, Sanya City, adjacent to the existing cruise terminal, with a unique geographical location. As the core component of the Phase I passenger transportation hub, the second section mainly covers the main structure of the passenger terminal building, passenger distribution hall, joint inspection and customs clearance area, supporting commercial facilities, underground parking lot and related municipal ancillary projects. The total construction area is about 86000 square meters, and the designed annual passenger throughput is 1.5 million. The project adopts a design style of "ocean culture+modern simplicity", incorporating elements such as waves and sails into the exterior of the building. It not only showcases the characteristics of Sanya's coastal city, but also has the atmospheric texture of an international hub. After completion, it will become a new urban landmark in Sanya.

In terms of functional layout, the project focuses on the three core areas of "efficient customs clearance, comfortable experience, and diversified services", and will set up modern facilities such as multilingual identification systems, intelligent security check channels, and self-service check-in equipment to optimize the passenger entry and exit process; Simultaneously supporting commercial formats such as duty-free shopping areas, specialty dining areas, and leisure waiting areas, creating an integrated passenger service scene of "customs clearance+consumption+leisure". In addition, the project will also simultaneously construct a green transportation connection system to achieve seamless integration with airports, high-speed rail stations, and urban main roads, improving passenger distribution efficiency.

During the construction process, the construction unit will strictly adhere to the principles of "safety first, quality oriented, and green construction". In response to the special geological conditions of the coastal area, advanced pile foundation construction technology, anti-corrosion technology, and environmentally friendly materials will be adopted to minimize the impact on the surrounding marine ecological environment. The project bidding work has been successfully completed, and a general contracting unit with experience in large-scale transportation hub construction has been selected. Currently, the construction team has entered the site to carry out preliminary work such as site leveling and temporary facility construction. Subsequently, the main structure construction, mechanical and electrical installation, decoration and repair will be promoted according to the plan, with an expected total construction period of 24 months.

As an important functional project in the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, the completion of the first phase passenger hub of Sanya International Cruise Port has profound significance. On the one hand, it will significantly enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of Sanya International Cruise Port, attract more international luxury cruise routes to settle in, and help Sanya build a "leading and world-renowned" international cruise homeport; On the other hand, it will drive the coordinated development of related industries such as tourism, consumption, and logistics, create a large number of job opportunities, and provide solid support for the construction of an international tourism consumption center in Sanya.
