In the process of accelerating energy transformation and building a modern power grid in Saudi Arabia, Chinese high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises have successfully achieved key market breakthroughs. Recently, TBEA won the bid for the Namria 380kV substation project of Saudi Electricity Company, with a contract amount of approximately 1.36 billion yuan. This is not only TBEA's first substation EPC general contracting project in Saudi Arabia, marking its successful entry into the core field of high-voltage transmission and transformation in Saudi Arabia, which has long been dominated by international giants, but also setting a new milestone for Chinese enterprises in the high-end power engineering market in the Gulf region.

The winning project includes the construction of a new 380/132kV Namria substation and the expansion of two existing substations in the surrounding area. The core significance lies in the leap from a single equipment supplier to an EPC general contractor, thanks to TBEA's long-term market cultivation and continuous technical standard docking with Saudi Arabia. The key role of the project is to connect the main artery of clean energy in northern Saudi Arabia. After completion, the substation will serve as a core hub, dedicated to collecting and transmitting green electricity produced by the wind power base in northern Saudi Arabia.

With the advancement of the "2030 Vision", large-scale renewable energy projects have been intensively launched in northern Saudi Arabia, and the power grid consumption capacity has become an urgent issue. The Namria substation project is an important part of breaking through this bottleneck, which will greatly enhance the carrying capacity and stability of the regional power grid, ensuring that green electricity can be efficiently and reliably connected to the national backbone power grid. This winning bid fully reflects Saudi Aramco's high recognition of Chinese enterprises in terms of technical strength and overall project execution capability. The significance of TBEA's successful breakthrough goes far beyond the individual project itself. It is like a pivot, not only prying open the closed door of Saudi Arabia's high-end electricity market, but also showcasing the comprehensive competitiveness of Chinese intelligent manufacturing and Chinese solutions in the field of power grid construction to the entire Gulf region. With the surging wave of power grid upgrading and new energy construction in Saudi Arabia and even the entire Middle East region, this bid has laid a solid foundation for TBEA and more Chinese enterprises to participate in major projects in the future, indicating that Chinese technology and engineering strength will play an increasingly crucial role in the grand blueprint of energy transformation in the Gulf region.Editor/Cheng Liting
