The State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council has announced the list of the top ten central enterprises' important equipment and top ten super projects for 2025. A group of achievements representing the highest level of China's intelligent manufacturing and construction have been listed, with many projects and equipment in the fields of construction and energy attracting much attention.

1. High altitude pressurized building (zero altitude house)

The world's highest and largest pressurized building complex, pioneered by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, has landed at the Huoshaoyun Lead Zinc Mine in Xinjiang. Through environmental control technology, indoor indicators have been adjusted to the level of the plain, solving the problem of high-altitude hypoxia. This technology has been applied in scenarios such as national defense scientific research, and the upgraded version of the "Polar Scientific Research Boosting Building" has helped the Chinese Antarctic scientific research team carry out work at Kunlun Station.

2. The world's first kilometer level vertical shaft hard rock full section tunneling machine "Steel Backbone"

The equipment developed by China Railway Construction Corporation will be offline in April 2025, filling the international gap of kilometer level deep wellbore full section excavation equipment, providing core support for deep mineral development and underground space utilization, and marking China's entry into the international leading level in this field.

3. Longdong Shandong ± 800 kV High Voltage DC Project

The "West East Power Transmission" project, which will be completed and put into operation in May 2025, has a total investment of 20.2 billion yuan and a transmission distance of 915 kilometers. It is China's first "integrated wind solar thermal storage" base external transmission project. The project can deliver over 36 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, effectively ensuring the power supply in Shandong and supporting the large-scale development of new energy.

4. Hainan 500kV main grid structure project

The project, which will be fully put into operation in December 2025, will construct a "mouth" shaped main grid covering the entire area of Hainan, apply digital twin technology, and achieve safe transmission and high proportion consumption of clean energy such as nuclear power and photovoltaics, laying a solid energy foundation for the development of Hainan Free Trade Port.

5. The world's first megawatt level compressed CO ₂ electric thermal energy storage pilot system

The system independently developed by Harbin Electric Power Group completed experimental verification in September 2025, breaking through the bottleneck of key equipment technology and possessing the ability of "cold, hot, and electric" multi energy supply, which can meet diverse energy storage needs and help improve the efficiency of renewable energy consumption.

6. The world's first 700 MW ultra supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler

The equipment developed by Dongfang Electric has been put into operation with the Yunneng Honghe Power Plant unit, overcoming the technical difficulties of high sulfur coal clean power generation, with a desulfurization efficiency of over 99.5%, setting a new benchmark for global circulating fluidized bed power generation technology.

7. Boao Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone

This demonstration zone created by China Ocean Shipping has achieved overall zero carbon operation in the region through 18 sub projects such as building renovation and renewable energy utilization, becoming the first sample in China to achieve zero carbon goals through renewal and renovation models, providing a replicable and promotable "Chinese solution".

8. Integrated protection and restoration project of mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes, grasses, and sands in the northern foothills of Qinling Mountains

The project implemented by China Chemical Engineering will be completed in November 2025, covering multiple projects such as wetland restoration and forest quality improvement, effectively controlling regional soil erosion, enhancing ecosystem stability, and practicing the concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

9. Xinjiang Wuwei Expressway

The highway invested and constructed by China Communications Construction Corporation will be opened to traffic in December 2025, with a total length of 324.7 kilometers. The controlled project, Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, is the world's longest highway tunnel. The project will shorten the driving time from Urumqi to Korla to 3.5 hours and improve the transportation network layout in Xinjiang.

10. CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan 400MW Offshore Photovoltaic Project

The project, which will be fully connected to the grid in May 2025, is the first pile foundation fixed offshore photovoltaic project in China. It uses independently developed components and generates over 694 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, providing a demonstration for the large-scale development of offshore photovoltaics.
