At the research and development base in Zhuzhou, Hunan, engineers are finally debugging a converter that looks like the "heart of high-speed rail". This device is about to be sent to the Middle East, facing the test of 50 degrees Celsius high temperature and sandstorms. Behind it is the ambition of China CRRC Group to "translate" high-speed rail technology into the field of new energy.

On January 13, 2026, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd. officially released three new energy solutions to the public after completing the membership process of Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance, marking the comprehensive entry of this rail transit giant into the field of integrated photohydrogen storage.

Make the gigawatt level power station resistant to high temperatures and sandstorms

For high-temperature and high dust areas such as the Middle East and North Africa, CRRC Times Electric has launched 8.8MW inverter boost integrated machine and 5MW converter boost integrated machine solutions. This solution is based on the widely used 1100kW photovoltaic inverter and 1250kW energy storage inverter modules overseas, which have the characteristics of efficient power generation, grid friendliness, intelligent operation and maintenance, and can adapt to extreme environments to meet the stable grid connection needs of gigawatt level photovoltaic storage power plants.

This is equivalent to replicating the adaptability of high-speed rail traction systems in tunnels, high cold, and humid environments to new energy power plants, "said the technical director metaphorically.

String inverter+liquid cooled energy storage

To cope with the trend of large-scale energy storage systems, CRRC Times Electric has launched 460kW string photovoltaic inverters, 3450kW liquid cooled energy storage inverters, and 13.8MW converter boost integrated machine solutions. By integrating efficient autonomous components, advanced heat dissipation technology, and network construction technology, the reliability, maintainability, and online rate of equipment are significantly improved, making it suitable for complex power grid scenarios.

Just like every carriage on a high-speed railway has independent power, our series design allows photovoltaic arrays to generate electricity more autonomously and operate more flexibly. Targeting the green hydrogen development plans of various countries in the Middle East, the company has launched a fully controlled hydrogen production power supply and integrated machine solution that covers the demand for 200-4000 standard cubic meters of electrolytic cells. The product adopts a plug and play design, which can be quickly put into operation and provide stable power support for large-scale green hydrogen production. The power control system of high-speed rail emphasizes millisecond level response. China's technology has obtained a permit to go global

At the press conference, T Ü V Rheinland Group of Germany issued a full series of IEC certification and Dubai and Saudi Arabia grid certification certificates for Times Electric's 1100kW photovoltaic inverter, clearing the barriers for its large-scale entry into the Middle East and global markets.
