Shaher, a professor of international relations at the University of Damascus in Syria, said in an interview with the People's Daily a few days ago that in the past few decades, China's development achievements have attracted worldwide attention, and the process of Chinese path to modernization has achieved significant results. China has proposed high-quality development, elevating "development" to a higher and deeper dimension.

Shaher highly agrees with China's new development concept, and is particularly impressed by measures such as strengthening the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, actively cultivating and developing new quality productivity. He said that the new quality productivity has the characteristics of high technology, high efficiency, and high quality, and is an advanced quality of productivity that conforms to the new development concept. Shahar taught at Sun Yat sen University in China for many years. There is a saying that 'seeing is believing'. I have personally experienced the openness and prosperity that China has shown. When it comes to China's speed and efficiency, Shahr told a funny story about his own experience: 'During my teaching period at Sun Yat sen University, I went back to Syria. When I returned to school, I couldn't find the gate - in a short period of time, the school buildings and surrounding roads had been optimized and renovated.'

Shaher stated that China has achieved development success through its own efforts. This also fully proves that in order for a country to achieve development, it must find a path that suits its own national conditions, and relying on external aid is impossible to achieve sustainable development.
