In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a modern garbage incineration power plant has just been built, completely changing the history of open-air landfill of local garbage. Just two months later, this green whirlwind of "turning waste into treasure" swept across the country's second largest city - Osh, the "southern capital" with a history of over 3000 years.

On February 6, 2026, Chinese listed company Junxin Corporation announced that its subsidiary Junxin Environmental Protection (Kyrgyzstan) Investment Co., Ltd. had officially signed the "Investment Agreement" and "Franchise Agreement" with the Cabinet of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Osh City Government. This is not only the signing of a contract, but also a crucial step in the strategic layout of Junxin Group in Central Asia from point to surface, marking that Chinese environmental protection enterprises have basically achieved full coverage of solid waste treatment business in Kyrgyzstan.

95 million US dollars to build a new environmental engine for the 'Southern Capital'

As the southern economic center of Kyrgyzstan, Osh city is ushering in an environmental revolution. According to the agreement, Junxin Corporation will construct a waste technology disposal and power generation complex in Osh City, with a planned total waste treatment capacity of 2000 tons per day and a franchise period of up to 35 years.

The project will be constructed in two phases. In the initial stage, a garbage technology disposal power station with a processing capacity of 850 tons/day will be built, with an investment of approximately 95 million US dollars. In the later stage, the processing line will be gradually expanded based on the increase in garbage volume in Osh City and surrounding areas. It is worth mentioning that the project will be constructed and accepted strictly in accordance with Chinese standards, but the highest international standard for environmental emissions - the smoke emission index - will be implemented according to EU standards to ensure that the local blue sky and white clouds are protected while solving the garbage problem.

In terms of business model, the agreement specifies that the unit price of garbage disposal service fee is $17/ton (approximately 1428.00 som/ton), which provides a solid guarantee for the long-term stable operation of the project.

China's speed refreshes the history of environmental protection in Central Asia

The layout of Junxin Corporation in Kyrgyzstan is not achieved overnight, but a step-by-step "conquering cities and territories". Looking back at its development history, it can be regarded as a "textbook" for Chinese environmental protection enterprises to go global:

2024: Successfully obtained the franchise rights for the waste technology disposal and power generation project (3000 tons/day) in the capital city of Bishkek.

2025: Successfully signed the framework agreement for the Osh City project and the investment agreement for the Almaty City solid waste technology disposal power generation project (2000 tons/day) in Kazakhstan.

In early 2026, the investment agreement for the Issyk Kul state waste technology disposal project (2000 tons/day) was officially signed.

Among them, the Bishkek project has been officially put into operation on December 27, 2025. Kyrgyz President Sadel Zaparov personally attended the project launch ceremony and awarded the Chairman of Junxin Group, Dai Daoguo, the "Friendship Medal" in recognition of his important contributions to improving the local ecological environment. The project took only 16 months from start to production, setting a new industry construction record and being praised by local media as a perfect combination of "Chinese speed" and "Chinese technology".

Green engine drives new growth poles in Central Asian economy

Central Asia, located in the hinterland of Europe and Asia, is an important hub connecting the East and the West, and also the first place of China's the Belt and Road Initiative. According to a World Bank report, Central Asia has been one of the fastest-growing regions in the global economy for three consecutive years. As the "southern capital" of Kyrgyzstan, Osh City will be a key area for multi sector reforms in the future according to the country's "National Development Plan before 2030", and will play a key role as an "innovation engine".

The garbage power generation project of Junxin Corporation not only solves the dilemma of local "garbage siege", but also generates sustainable green electricity through "turning waste into treasure". According to estimates, the first phase of the Bishkek project can provide approximately 146 million kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, with an annual carbon reduction of up to 100000 tons. The dual benefits of "environmental protection+energy" perfectly meet the urgent demand for green development in Central Asia.

With the smooth commissioning of the Bishkek project and the successful signing of contracts for the Issyk Kul, Osh, and Almaty projects in Kazakhstan, Junxin Group has basically achieved full coverage of solid waste treatment business in Kyrgyzstan and gradually formed a point to surface business layout in Central Asia. This is not only a successful example of China's environmental protection technology going global, but also a vivid practice of China and Central Asian countries jointly building the Green Silk Road.Editor/Yang Meiling
