Spring returns to the northern frontier, the sandstorms have not yet subsided, and the drums of war have already sounded. The sand prevention and control work in Inner Mongolia has been fully launched, and a tough battle related to ecological security, the Three North Project, is underway.

This is not only a slogan, but also a concrete military order: by 2026, Inner Mongolia plans to complete ecological construction of over 40 million acres, of which desertification prevention and control tasks will reach over 15 million acres.

On February 28, 2026, in the westernmost Alxa League, the construction of the Yellow River Photovoltaic Sand Control Lock Belt broke ground first. The goal here is extremely clear - to achieve over 2.4 million acres of desertification prevention and control by 2026. In the depths of Ulan Buh Desert, photovoltaic panel arrays complement each other with shuttle forests and grass squares, creating layered defenses. This new model of photovoltaic+sand control is gradually turning yellow sand into an oasis and a golden mountain.

To the east to Bayannur, the roar of sand control machinery broke the silence of the desert. By 2026, the city plans to complete over 8 million acres of forest and grass ecological construction, achieving 90% of the planned progress for the sixth phase of the Three North Project. In the Benbatu project area of Urad Rear Banner, the laying of grass square grid sand barriers is in full swing, and sand control personnel are racing against the wind and sand to seize the golden construction period.

Ordos has put up a big formation. By 2026, the city aims to complete the construction of over 14 million acres of the Three North Project, including 6 million acres for sand prevention and control. On the edge of the Kubuqi Desert, the Great Wall of photovoltaics is rising, striving to break through 1 million acres of photovoltaic desertification control by the end of the year; The 740 kilometer "Road to Sand Control" project winds and stretches, radiating and driving ecological governance of 760000 acres.

Technology has become the trump card in this battle. Inner Mongolia will comprehensively promote intelligent tree planting robots and sand barrier laying machines, striving to achieve a mechanical sand control coverage rate of 55%. This is not only an ecological battle, but also a livelihood battle - more than 1 billion yuan in labor remuneration will be distributed to farmers and herdsmen throughout the year, allowing desertification control workers to not only protect their homes but also raise their wallets.
