At the Zhuhai Deepwater Equipment Manufacturing Base, with the precise cutting of the first steel plate, the Buzios 11 suction anchor project in Brazil has officially started construction. This is not only the core project of the 2000 meter ultra deep water pre salt oil and gas field undertaken by the Zhuhai base after the Mero Phase II project, but also a tangible performance declaration: Chinese enterprises are continuing to lead in the large-scale and systematic construction of ultra deep water suction anchors.

This sea area, named Buzios, is located in the pre salt zone of the Santos Basin in Brazil, about 180 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Under these waves, a dark abyss with a depth of 2000 meters, Petrobras joins hands China National Petroleum Corporation、China National Offshore Oil The consortium is taking this project as an opportunity to write a new chapter in China Pakistan energy cooperation and high-quality development of the the Belt and Road.

The hardcore strength of the deep-sea sea fixing needle

The reason why suction anchor is known as the anchor of deep-sea oil and gas development lies in its clever physical characteristics - it does not require a huge pile foundation, and can firmly adhere to the seabed like a suction cup with only negative pressure, providing a solid anchorage for underwater production facilities. This equipment has significant advantages such as efficient installation, strong load-bearing capacity, and adaptability to complex geology, and is the core key to ultra deep water development.

The 30 sets of suction anchors constructed at the Zhuhai base this time include two types of individual units: riser anchor piles and manifold terminal piles. The largest single building is 22.5 meters high with a diameter of 6.5 meters, and the total weight of the project is 3674.2 tons. This massive steel structure will provide a stable sky for the underwater production system, risers, and terminal equipment of the oil field.

Zhuhai's commitment to full process control

Faced with the challenges of extreme deep-sea environments, the Zhuhai base will be responsible for the entire process from processing design, material procurement to prefabricated construction, system testing, and shipment. Relying on a mature ultra deep water equipment construction system, the base will strictly implement international standards and incorporate quality, safety, and progress into every construction process. This is not just a simple start, but also a deep-sea battle about precision and efficiency. Under this 2000 meter deep blue sky, Chinese manufacturing is showcasing the Chinese standards for deepwater equipment construction to the world with millimeter level precision and systematic management.Editor/Cheng Liting
