On June 18, 2026, the planning and adjustment plan for the Wuhan Big Data Center under Zhongjin Shugu Technology Co., Ltd. was publicly announced before approval, and the public announcement period was until June 28. The project is located in the core area of the National Cybersecurity Base in Dongxihu District, Wuhan City. The construction unit has proposed multiple adjustments to the overall layout plan and individual buildings, including the refinement of substations, the reconstruction of computer room functions, the addition of diesel generator platforms, and the optimization of park transportation. This marks a new round of expansion and upgrading of the computing infrastructure with a total investment of 10.5 billion yuan.

The second phase of the computer room is evolving towards a high-density computing power form

In this adjustment, the original Phase II six data centers and big data application centers were integrated into three data centers A1 # to A3 #, with the addition of five outdoor diesel generator platforms and cold storage tanks as supporting facilities. The Phase I outdoor diesel generator platform plan was also optimized, and the internal roads and entrances of the park were adjusted accordingly, with the addition of ground parking spaces. Behind the integration of functions is a profound change in the structure of computing power requirements.

Since 2026, with the explosive demand for large model training and inference, high-density single cabinet power has become a core indicator. Zhongjin Shugu has consolidated its original decentralized layout towards centralization and high-density, while strengthening redundant support systems such as diesel generators and cold storage to match the more stringent availability requirements under Tier IV data center standards.

Accelerated formation of computing hub in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River

The Zhongjin Wuhan Shugu Big Data Center started construction in May 2018, covering a total area of 310 acres with a planned construction area of 500000 square meters. The overall plan includes 40000 racks and 200MW IT capacity, capable of supporting 600000 high-performance servers. Currently, the first phase of 310000 square meters and 20000 cabinets have been completed and put into use. Keywords: big data center, high-tech

The project focuses on providing large-scale and highly reliable computing services to industries such as artificial intelligence, intelligent driving, and intelligent manufacturing. In the first half of 2026, with the commissioning of projects such as the Wuhan Artificial Intelligence Computing Center, the computing power cluster effect in Dongxihu District will continue to strengthen. As a core node of the National Cybersecurity Base, Zhongjin Data Valley is evolving from a single data center to a regional computing power dispatch hub, serving the underlying needs of the digital transformation of the Yangtze River Midstream Urban Agglomeration.Editor/Cheng Liting
