From the logistics routes in Asia and Europe to the fertile farmland in Africa, the cooperation dividends of the the Belt and Road have taken root and benefited people for more than a decade. At the 2026 Summer Davos Forum, guests from various countries gathered together to discuss the new prospects for the future of the Silk Road.

The annual meeting of the new leaders of the 2026 World Economic Forum will hold a special sub forum in Dalian. The theme will focus on how the the Belt and Road will develop in the future. Guests from all walks of life will discuss and share long-term prospects around the new path of cooperation. 2026 coincides with the 13th anniversary of the implementation of the the Belt and Road Initiative. Eurasia joins hands to upgrade digital connectivity
Kazakh Prime Minister Orzas Bektenov said that the joint construction of the the Belt and Road will open up new development opportunities for the Eurasian continent. Relying on this cooperation platform, Kazakhstan continues to expand international cooperation channels, deepen mutual trust, and attract foreign investment. Looking towards the future, he calls on all countries to improve their physical transportation infrastructure, simultaneously promote the digital transformation of logistics, optimize the flow of goods through electronic documents, smart customs, real-time data, and artificial intelligence, compress comprehensive logistics expenses, and improve transportation efficiency.

Agricultural technology cooperation to solve the problem of food and clothing
The development dividends brought by the joint construction of the the Belt and Road also benefit Africa. Guinea's Prime Minister Amadou Uri Ba introduced that China's hybrid rice technology has taken root in the local area, effectively helping the people alleviate the problem of food shortage. Guinea hopes to deepen agricultural technology cooperation, popularize advanced planting experience, and comprehensively improve the level of local agricultural development in the future.

Most of the co founded countries are developing economies with low credit ratings and high financing costs for cross-border projects. ICBC President Liu Jun proposed a solution: coordinating various credit enhancement institutions such as guarantee, credit insurance, and credit reporting to participate in investment and financing, relying on a complete logistics and data chain to accurately calculate pricing, and making financing costs fit the real industrial and trade situation.
