From the beginning of 2026 to June, the Western Land Sea New Corridor trains transported a total of 660000 TEUs of goods, with a monthly average volume of 110000 TEUs. The second quarter volume increased by 3.6% compared to the first quarter, and the overall transportation market demand continued to remain high.

After the implementation of the new railway operation plan nationwide on July 1st, three new scheduled operating lines were added to the Western Land Sea New Corridor, bringing the total number to 52. This further strengthens the logistics network connecting Guangxi to the core regions of central and western China, such as Chongqing, Sichuan, and Yunnan.

Key projects synchronously promote channel hardware expansion

China Railway Nanning Bureau is accelerating the construction of two major capacity expansion projects: the second line of the Qinzhou Fangchenggang section of the Nanfang Railway and the second line of the Qinzhou East Qinzhou Port Railway. These two routes are key transportation nodes of the Western Land Sea New Corridor. After completion, they can directly solve the bottleneck of railway capacity from Qinzhou Port to the inland direction, greatly reducing the waiting time for port goods to be transported by train.

Since 2026, a total of 72000 TEUs of industrial raw materials such as alumina and high ice nickel have been shipped from Qinzhou Port East Station to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 49.4%, stabilizing the raw material supply chain for the intelligent manufacturing industry in the Sichuan Chongqing and Yunnan Guizhou regions.

The categories and radiation range of goods continue to expand

The export volume of automobile and motorcycle spare parts produced in the central and western regions through rail sea intermodal transportation reached 38000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of nearly 90%. The proportion of high value-added electromechanical products is rapidly increasing.

At present, the freight categories of the channel have expanded to 1362, and the domestic network covers 76 cities in 18 provinces. The international end radiates 593 ports in 128 countries and regions. The radiation level of the Western Land Sea New Channel is still continuously rising.Editor/Cheng Liting
