Recently, CRBC Cambodia Branch officially signed a project business contract with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia. This project, located in Bayu City, Chaizhen Province, directly targets the traffic pain points at the core ports of the Cambodia Vietnam border to initiate an upgrade.

Ba Yu Port is the core land node for Cambodia to connect with Vietnam, and also a key hub on the cross-border logistics channel between China and Cambodia, bearing a large amount of cross-border freight flow demand for a long time. The existing traffic capacity of the Bayu section of Highway 1 is insufficient, and the road area is severely flooded during the rainy season. The supporting facilities at the port are old and cannot keep up with the rapidly growing demand for cross-border cargo flow in recent years.

Simultaneous promotion and upgrading of road and drainage engineering

The core construction content of the project includes the expansion of the 7.58-kilometer Bayu section of Highway 1, the simultaneous renovation of the entire rainwater drainage system, and the simultaneous expansion and upgrading of the connecting roads within the port.

Previously, some sections of this highway could only support two-way two lane traffic, and there were often long periods of congestion during peak freight hours. During the rainy season, large areas of water accumulation on the road surface would directly interrupt traffic. After the expansion is completed, the traffic capacity of the road section will be directly increased by more than twice, and the problem of water accumulation can also be completely solved.

Simultaneous strengthening of port supporting service capabilities

The project will also complete the construction of a brand new Bayu Customs office building, replacing the old office space and optimizing the layout of customs clearance and inspection sites. Keywords: Customs upgrade and renovation, cross-border logistics channels

After the upgrade is completed, the customs clearance efficiency of the Bayu Port will be significantly improved, the waiting time for cross-border trucks to be inspected will be greatly reduced, and the cross-border logistics turnover speed of the entire Cambodia Vietnam border will be further accelerated. After the implementation of this project, it can not only support the upgrading of Cambodia's local logistics network, but also provide tangible hardware support for regional connectivity and economic development along the route.Editor/Cheng Liting
