On July 8, 2026, the heat wave hit the land of Heze, and the expanded main transformer in the 1000 kV high-voltage substation in Caozhou emitted a steady buzzing sound. With the operator closing the last isolation switch, the first ultra-high voltage project in Shandong during the 15th Five Year Plan period, the Caozhou 1000 kV high-voltage main transformer expansion project, was officially put into operation. This energy hub, which started construction in July 2025 and covers an area of 14.05 hectares, has become a key node for power mutual assistance between Shandong and Hebei provinces, injecting strong momentum into regional industrial upgrading.

As the core project connecting Shandong and Hebei power grids, Caozhou Ultra High Voltage Station undertakes the important task of inter provincial energy interconnection. After being put into operation, the project will significantly enhance the ability of Shandong power grid to receive external electricity, while strengthening the power support to southern Hebei, effectively alleviating the supply-demand contradiction during the peak period of regional electricity consumption, optimizing the power structure of the two provinces, and providing strong physical support for cross regional resource optimization and allocation.
