The Al Safa Road Upgrade Project, located in the core business district of Dubai city center, is surrounded by numerous commercial districts and dense traffic, with extremely demanding construction conditions. The CCECC team faced difficulties head-on, accurately overcame complex construction challenges, successfully completed the construction of the first group of test piles for the project, and won the key construction nodes of the project.

The construction environment is complex and harsh
The Dubai R1181/2 Al Safar Road Upgrade and Renovation Project is adjacent to the Dubai Shopping Centre and Burj Khalifa, covering multiple projects such as bridges, underground passages, road paving, municipal pipelines, and supporting pumping stations. After completion, it will greatly optimize the transportation system in the core urban area of Dubai. The first set of TP-03 test piles completed this time includes two reaction piles and one test pile, with a pile diameter of 1.5 meters and a pile length exceeding 35 meters. The construction area is adjacent to the city's main roads and commercial districts, with limited working space and great difficulty in lifting large equipment and transporting materials. The ultra long steel cage needs to be lifted and connected in sections, and combined with the local high temperature weather, it brings multiple challenges to on-site construction.
Precise control of construction stability nodes
Faced with many construction difficulties, the project team sorted out the site conditions in advance, repeatedly optimized the construction plan, and scientifically planned the positioning and transportation routes of large equipment. The team strictly controls the core processes such as drilling, steel cage docking, and concrete pouring, synchronously implements traffic guidance, pipeline protection, and safety and quality control measures, actively connects with the owner and the supervision unit, and efficiently coordinates resources from all parties. All staff members overcame difficulties and successfully ensured the safe and smooth implementation of the entire construction process of the test pile.
The successful completion of the test pile construction has verified the feasibility of the on-site construction process, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive implementation of the pile foundation engineering and the smooth progress of the main project.
