In July in Xi'an, the heat wave is rolling, and even hotter than the weather is a review meeting related to the future of energy. From July 14th to 15th, the Yanchang Petroleum Conference Room was packed with 22 chemical industry experts from across the country, focusing on a solid blueprint - the overall design plan for the first phase of the Yulin Coal to Clean Fuel Upgrade Demonstration Project. After two days of rigorous questioning and discussion, the experts finally came to a conclusion: the plan is scientifically feasible and has passed the review. This marks that this giant energy project is about to move from blueprint to reality, injecting strong momentum into the energy supply guarantee of Shaanxi and even the whole country.

Five million ton production capacity landing

The project is located in Jingbian Economic Development Zone, Yulin, relying on the abundant coal resources in northern Shaanxi. The overall planned production capacity is up to 5 million tons of coal based clean fuels and co produced chemicals per year. The first phase of the project that has passed the review will take the lead in building a production capacity of 2.4 million tons per year. Unlike traditional coal chemical industry, this project will be accompanied by the construction of three coal mines, Wusuhaize No.1, Xihongdun, and Haishitan, to achieve integrated coupling of coal and electricity, ensuring stable supply of raw materials from the source and reducing production costs.

Combining emergency measures to ensure energy security

Against the backdrop of the current turbulent global energy landscape, this project has been given a special mission. It is not only a key link in implementing the new national energy security strategy, but also a cornerstone in serving and ensuring national energy security. The project adheres to the combination of calm and urgency, producing clean fuels and high value-added chemicals on a regular basis. In emergency situations, the product structure can be quickly adjusted to enhance the ability to independently guarantee oil and gas.
