Recently, China has made significant engineering breakthroughs in the field of high-altitude wind power. The S4000 floating wind power generation system, independently developed by China, has successfully completed the full process flight verification at a test base in northwest China, marking the official transition of China's high-altitude wind power technology in the stratosphere from technological iteration to engineering implementation.
This experiment has completed the assessment of the entire process of takeoff, airborne deployment, power generation testing, and smooth recovery, and all indicators have met the standards, fully verifying the reliability of the system in complex and extreme high-altitude environments.
As an iterative upgrade product of the S2000 model, the S4000 adopts a new configuration with comprehensive performance improvement. Its maximum altitude can reach 4000 meters and is suitable for deployment in most regions of China. It can directly adapt to the power supply needs of mainstream power grids and has a designed service life of up to 20 years.
At present, high-altitude wind power has been included in the national "15th Five Year Plan" for renewable energy development and has become a key new clean energy technology for layout. The successful trial of the S4000 system has filled a key link in the engineering application of high-altitude wind power in China, effectively enhancing the supply capacity of clean energy at high altitudes, and is an important practice of China's cutting-edge new energy technology.Editor/Yang Meiling
