In Abu Dhabi, ADPIC officials sat around with contractors from China and Türkiye to discuss a list of infrastructure projects totaling US $54 billion. From a $13.6 billion railway network spanning the desert, to the world's largest $5 billion civil aviation maintenance base, and to the $8.7 billion fully aware smart city - this oil kingdom is using real money to pour the foundation for its diversified transformation from energy exports to logistics, trade, technology, and tourism industries. China Railway Construction Corporation, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and other enterprises have deeply embedded themselves as core builders in this super infrastructure wave.

Six major super projects are fully launched
The $54 billion investment focuses on six major areas: transportation, energy, digital, aviation, water, and urban development. The $13.6 billion railway network runs through the desert, the $5 billion world's largest civil aviation maintenance base breaks ground, and the $8.7 billion fully aware smart city starts construction. The project covers Abu Dhabi, Ain city, and Dafra region, with social infrastructure accounting for approximately 50% of the investment portfolio, including national housing, schools, and community facilities. The UAE federal budget clearly prioritizes transportation, energy, digital infrastructure, and healthcare education.

Chinese contractors become the core force
According to Reuters, ADPIC officials have met with contractors and developers in Singapore, China and Türkiye to select enterprises from these countries to participate in the project. According to the ENR list, China and Türkiye rank first and second among the world's top contractors. In 2024, Türkiye's contractors will undertake more than 31 billion dollars of overseas projects, and the United Arab Emirates is the largest market. Türkiye companies such as Dogus, Karion and Suma participated in the tour. The project can be financed through direct government funding, long-term partnerships, and public-private partnership models. Enterprises should pay attention to investment and cooperation opportunities in the fields of transportation, energy, and technology.
