On July 20, 2026, Russian President Putin signed a presidential decree extending the current visa free policy for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports until December 31, 2027.

The Chinese Embassy in Russia reminds all Chinese citizens to familiarize themselves with Russian laws and regulations, as well as entry, exit, and residence requirements before coming to Russia. Due to the visa free policy, it is essential to obtain the corresponding type of visa in advance, abide by laws and regulations upon entry, and not engage in activities that are inconsistent with the purpose of coming to Russia. It is important to raise awareness of security risk prevention and be the first person responsible for overseas security.
