In 2025, the cargo and mail transportation volume will exceed 10 million tons for the first time, and the international routes will complete 4.4 million tons - China's air cargo is rewriting the connectivity logic of the the Belt and Road. According to data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, China's international air routes have reached 263 cities in 90 countries and regions worldwide, and all cargo flights cover 162 cities in 70 countries and regions. Six domestic airports have entered the top 30 global cargo airports. When air corridors connect countries along the the Belt and Road closely, air freight is no longer just the displacement of goods, but the key guarantee for smooth supply chain.

Continuous densification of the Belt and Road route density

In the first half of the year, the international air routes completed a cargo and mail transportation volume of 2.32 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%; The international passenger transport volume exceeded 40 million, an increase of 5.7%. China's airlines have more than 1000 regular routes, international passenger routes reach 177 cities in 80 countries on five continents, and the Silk Road in the air covers 125 cities in 60 countries jointly building the the Belt and Road. The pace of opening new international cargo routes is accelerating synchronously - in the first half of the year, 92 new international air cargo routes were opened nationwide, including 41 in Asia and 38 in Europe, with an increase of more than 210 round-trip flights per week. Cross border e-commerce goods, high-end manufacturing products, electronic products, and auto parts constitute the main source of goods, and the trade structure with countries along the the Belt and Road is changing from low-end to high-value added.

Six airports rank among the top 30 in the world

Shanghai Pudong, Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, Beijing Capital, Ezhou Huahu, and Zhengzhou Xinzheng airports have entered the top 30 global freight airports. Ezhou Huahu Airport is one of the fastest growing variables, with a cargo volume of 1.478 million tons completed by 2025 and a significant increase of 85.8% in international and regional cargo volume. So far, China has signed intergovernmental air transport agreements with 107 co construction countries, initially forming air corridors covering the six economic corridors along the the Belt and Road.

When the BYD battery pack at Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport achieves instant reporting and delivery to Europe and America within 48 hours; When the transshipment center of Ezhou Huahu keeps sorting around the clock - behind these scenes, air freight is changing the the Belt and Road from a geographical concept to flights and goods flying in the sky every day with faster speed and more dense network.Editor/Cheng Liting
