On July 23, 2026, Hunan Yuneng issued an investment announcement, announcing the landing of the Guizhou Yuneng Weng'an Mineralization Integrated New Energy Battery Material Recycling Industry Project in Weng'an County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The overall investment scale of the project reaches 24 billion yuan, and the funds come from the company's own and self raised funds. The construction period is planned to be 5 years, and the implementation will be carried out in a step-by-step manner. Within 18 months after the official start of the project, the plan is to complete an investment of 5 to 8 billion yuan, and the subsequent pace will be dynamically adjusted according to market demand. The total area of the project is about 3900 acres, and the core production capacity plan includes 800000 tons of lithium iron phosphate and 1 million tons of iron phosphate production lines. Simultaneously, supporting facilities such as phosphorus sources, iron sources, lithium sources, and lithium battery recycling will be built throughout the entire chain to achieve coordinated implementation of upstream and downstream. At present, Hunan Yuneng has reached cooperation intentions with the government of Qiannan Prefecture and Weng'an County, and plans to jointly sign investment contracts.

Closed loop layout of the three core raw materials of lithium iron phosphate

This project will build a complete supply chain system from three dimensions: phosphorus, iron, and lithium. In terms of phosphorus sources, the company relies on the high-quality local phosphate resources in Weng'an County to build a complete industrial chain from phosphate mining, beneficiation to deep processing of phosphate chemicals. At the same time, it stably guarantees the supply of sulfuric acid raw materials through multiple modes such as pyrite acid production and phosphogypsum acid production. Among them, the phosphogypsum acid production process can simultaneously achieve harmless disposal of industrial solid waste and resource recycling. In terms of iron sources, the company relies on the development and utilization of pyrite resources, improves the supply chain of core iron raw materials, and ensures stable supply of raw materials for the production of iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate. In terms of lithium sources, the project is simultaneously laying out the production capacity of lithium carbonate processing and the recycling business of lithium batteries, opening up a closed-loop channel for lithium resource acquisition, processing, and recycling, and expanding the supply channels of lithium resources. Through the integrated mineralization and upstream downstream linkage of the entire industry chain layout, the company will effectively build the upstream core raw material supply guarantee capability.
