At the first Kazakhstan Uzbekistan Regional Cooperation Forum held in Aktau, a special conference on oil and fat trade was successfully held, and the industries of the two countries jointly sorted out market opportunities and explored long-term stable production and sales cooperation paths. The National Association of Oil Crop Processing Enterprises in Kazakhstan released an industry report on site, highlighting the achievements of production capacity and export growth, and outlining the long-term development blueprint of the industry.

Capacity expansion

Kazakhstan's current annual processing capacity of oil crops has exceeded 5.2 million tons, and the scale of sunflower seed processing has reached 4.4 million tons, with a production capacity advantage of about 700000 tons ahead of Uzbekistan. According to the development plan, after multiple new processing plants are put into operation in 2028, the annual processing capacity of oil crops in China will be increased to 8 million tons. In the first nine months of the 2025/226 sales year, the country's vegetable oil and oil meal exports generated a revenue of 944 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 54%, setting a new historical high. The annual export revenue is expected to exceed 1.15 billion US dollars. Relying on the continuously expanding processing capacity, Kazakhstan is steadily promoting the transformation of deep processing of agricultural products and continuously expanding the export scale of high value-added oil products.

Deeply cultivate Central Asia

Kazakhstan has maintained its position as the top vegetable oil supplier to Uzbekistan for two consecutive years, with its vegetable oil market share exceeding 90% by 2025. In the first nine months of the 2025/226 sales year, the export volume of vegetable oil and oilseed meal to Uzbekistan reached 553000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 31%. The country can fully meet all the demand for sunflower seed oil meal in Central Asian countries. At present, Kazakhstan's vegetable oil export scale ranks sixth in the world, with products sold to more than 20 countries. Keywords: oil processing, agricultural product export
