In the early morning, at the site of the Datang Yuncheng project in Heze, Shandong, a loud roar broke the silence with a command. In the control room, the operator's gaze was tightly fixed on the jumping numbers on the screen. When the main steam temperature remained at 631 ℃ and the coal consumption for power generation showed 245.74 grams per kilowatt hour, an uncontrollable cheer erupted on site. This is not just the start-up of a unit, but also a successful charge by China's power industry towards the world's peak.

This world's first 630 ℃ demonstration coal-fired power unit has broken the world record for single shaft million kilowatt units with four hard core indicators - ultra-high pressure of 35.5 megapascals, extreme temperature of 631 ℃, power generation efficiency exceeding 50%, and lowest coal consumption. It is not only a technological victory, but also a vivid footnote for China to break through foreign technological barriers and achieve independent and controllable control of the entire industry chain.

The boiler refines the diamond body

As the heart of the unit, the boiler must withstand hellish tests. In order to ensure stable operation under all working conditions, the R&D team abandoned traditional extensive management and instead adopted multidimensional temperature control technology, which eliminates temperature differences between pipe walls like ironing wrinkles, ensuring precise temperature compliance. What is even more exciting is that the project team has pushed the domestically developed G115 new martensitic heat-resistant steel into engineering applications for the first time in the world. This material, known as the pearl on the crown of steel, has completely ended the long-term monopoly of foreign companies in the field of high-end high-temperature heat-resistant materials, giving China's thermal power industry its own strong backbone.

Steam turbine breaks through high temperature lock

If the boiler is the source of power, the steam turbine is the center of energy conversion. Faced with the world's highest temperature of 631 ℃ and the ultimate pressure of 35.5 megapascals, the traditional technological path has no way out. Chinese engineers have taken a different approach by designing new components for high-pressure rotors and developing exclusive automatic welding processes. In order to adapt to ultra-high pressure, the ultra-high pressure cylinder adopts an optimized double tube structure, greatly improving its pressure bearing capacity. At the same time, the longest full speed titanium alloy final stage blade in China has achieved a dual leap in aerodynamic efficiency and deep peak shaving capability. The introduction of a dual machine reheating system cleverly reduces heat transfer losses, making this behemoth more adept at starting, stopping, and peak shaving.

Motor empowerment for deep peak shaving

Under the "dual carbon" goal, the consumption of new energy has put forward higher requirements for thermal power units. For this purpose, the project team developed a high-performance generator and innovatively applied stator flexible connection and rotor coil end elastic support system. These black technologies enable the generator to not only stably output 1100 megawatts of power for a long time, but also have the ability to deeply regulate the full load from 0 to 100%.
