On July 29, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Niger held a reception to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army. More than 150 people attended the event, including the Ambassador of the Guangxi Army, the Secretary General of the Nepalese Ministry of Defense, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the President of the National Administrative Court, the Director General of National Merit and Honor, the Deputy Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Mayor of the capital Niamey, and people from all walks of life.

Senior Colonel Chen Xuming, military attache for national defense, said in his speech that under the strong leadership of the CPC, the PLA has gone through an extraordinary and glorious journey.  

The Chinese military has always been a steadfast force in maintaining world peace and contributing greatly to the construction of a shared future for mankind. We are willing to work with the Nepalese military to expand and deepen practical cooperation, and continuously enrich the connotation of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
