On July 27, 2026, the machines at the construction site of Batuco Station were orderly in place, and construction personnel from all parties gathered at the site to witness the main construction of this key station. As the first station among the six newly built stations on the entire line to enter the main construction phase, this construction breaks through the barriers of the early preparation stage and promotes the construction of the entire railway project to a new level.

Project Overview

The Batuco Railway in Chile is located in the northern part of the Chilean Capital Region, with a total length of 24 kilometers. It is the highest single infrastructure contract in the history of Chile's national railway. The project includes the construction of a new passenger dedicated line from Jintanomar City to Batuco City, the simultaneous construction of 6 stations and 6 railway bridges, and the renovation and repair of the existing freight railway. The line runs through 5 cities in the Capital Region and can connect to the Capital Metro Lines 3, 5, and 7. The project was signed on August 25, 2025.

Tackling construction challenges

This project is the core project for CRCC to expand into the Chilean railway market. The project team coordinates various resources and connects the design, business, and construction collaboration chain. Faced with challenges such as inconsistent local construction standards, complex design interfaces, lengthy approval processes, and high pressure on material allocation, the team steadily completed site handover, temporary facility construction, construction plan review, and commencement condition verification to ensure the smooth start of the main project.
