Global energy trade continues to seek stable storage and transportation hubs, and the Rasmakaz crude oil park in the Duqum Special Economic Zone of Oman has reached a critical expansion milestone. Oman Oil Tank Terminal Company has officially launched EPC qualification pre-approval and is soliciting proposals from contractors at home and abroad. This top-level oil storage facility in Oman is one step closer to achieving the goal of building 200 million barrels of energy storage.

Hub location advantage

The Rasmakaz Crude Oil Park covers an area of approximately 40 square kilometers, adjacent to the Dukum Port and located outside the navigation channel of the Strait of Hormuz. It can avoid the geopolitical risks of shipping channels and build a new node for crude oil storage and transportation connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe. The park currently has 8 storage tanks with a total capacity of 5.2 million barrels, equipped with offshore loading and unloading equipment, submarine pipelines, and onshore operating facilities. A water treatment system, intelligent control platform, and standardized safety system are installed on site, which can undertake large-scale commercial business such as multi category crude oil blending, import and export. Relying on its unique geographical location, the project is expected to grow into a globally important crude oil transit and storage center.

Assist in economic transformation

The implementation of the project construction is in line with the development direction of Oman's 2040 vision. Oman continues to layout its energy logistics and port industries, reducing its economic dependence on oil and gas output income. As the expansion of the park progresses, Dukum will gradually aggregate resources from the refining, petrochemical, shipping, and warehousing industries to form a complete energy industry cluster. This EPC bidding is open to both local and international enterprises, and local bidding companies in Oman need to complete registration with relevant departments.
