On July 30, 2026, Subsea7 announced that it had won the general contract for the offshore subsea pipeline replacement project from Shell Brunei, with a contract value of 50 million to 150 million US dollars. This is another collaboration between the two parties since 2018, where Subsea7 will be responsible for the EPCI full process operation of underwater pipelines and riser systems for offshore assets up to 50 meters deep.

BSP cable replacement is progressing according to plan

Brunei Shell Oil is a joint venture between Shell Group and the Brunei government, each holding 50% of the shares, and is also the largest oil and gas operator in Brunei. Brunei's offshore oil and gas resources are abundant, but the service life of submarine pipelines is relatively long, and there is a continuous need for updates. BSP has been promoting the replacement of old pipelines in batches for a long time. This year, the ninth phase of the pipeline replacement project (PRP-8) has been completed, and the newly signed contract is the latest project of this renovation plan.

Subsea7 served as a turnkey contractor in the PRP-8 project, completing EPCI operations for flexible flow pipelines, risers, and rigid corrosion-resistant alloy risers. The scope of work of this contract continues this model, covering the design, procurement, construction and installation of submarine pipelines and riser systems. The project management and design work will start immediately, with the core team relying on Subsea7's office base in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and synchronized technical and personnel support from Perth, Australia, Paris, France, and multiple global branches.
