In the high-altitude mountainous area of the Cajamarca Region in Peru, at an altitude of 2800 meters, a winding 246 kilometer black road passes through clouds and mist, connecting 32 remote mountain villages. The highway renovation and maintenance project undertaken by China Civil Engineering Group Co., Ltd. has successfully passed the acceptance inspection, and residents along the route have bid farewell to the history of muddy and difficult travel during the rainy season and dusty travel during the dry season. Upgrade 246 kilometers of plateau mountain roads

The project is located in the mountainous highlands of Peru, with elevations ranging from 1500 to 2800 meters along the route. The total length of the renovated and maintained road is approximately 246 kilometers. High altitude, complex terrain, and harsh climate pose enormous challenges to construction. China National Construction Engineering Corporation (CCECC) has overcome many difficulties such as high-altitude hypoxia and material transportation, and completed engineering projects such as road paving, slope treatment, and drainage system renovation. The renovated road surface is smooth and wide, with clear markings and complete traffic safety facilities, greatly improving the efficiency of regional road network traffic.

Benefiting 200000 residents in 32 communities

The highway connects multiple remote mountain villages, directly benefiting 32 communities and over 200000 residents. In the past, residents in mountainous areas often spent several hours or even a whole day traveling due to poor road conditions, making it difficult to transport agricultural products and high input costs for materials. Nowadays, smooth roads have greatly reduced the travel time of villagers, allowing agricultural products to be transported to the market in a timely manner and daily necessities to enter mountain villages more conveniently.
