On August 5, 2026, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Lyubonsky stated that Germany was attempting to escalate the situation in Ukraine, which could lead Germany into disaster.

Liubinski said in an interview with TASS that Germany's reckless attempt to escalate the situation in Ukraine may bring disaster to Germany, and Russia will not be intimidated by its military threats.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova previously stated that Germany has become a major supporter of Ukraine and holds a dominant position in the country's militarization process. At the end of November 2025, the German Bundestag passed the 2026 budget bill, which plans to provide 11.5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine for the purchase of equipment such as artillery, drones, and armored vehicles. The German Ministry of Defense stated that this is the highest amount of German aid to the Ukrainian military since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis in 2022.Editor/Min Jing
