On August 7, 2026, the first batch of cross-border e-commerce goods slowly departed from the comprehensive bonded zone of Daxing Airport and headed straight for Shijiazhuang International Land Port along a dedicated channel, about to take the China Europe freight train to Europe. With the official opening of the China Europe freight train service center in the Daxing Airport Economic Zone, the air land intermodal transportation network between the two major hubs of Beijing and Hebei has been completely connected.

Beijing Hebei linkage opens up a new air land link

Previously, cross-border goods from Beijing often needed to be transported long distances to inland ports hundreds of kilometers away. Multiple loading and unloading not only extended the transportation time, but also increased the risk of cargo damage and logistics costs. The service center that has been put into use this time will directly connect the business system of Daxing Airport Economic Zone and Shijiazhuang China Europe Railway Express Assembly Center, achieving seamless connection in all aspects of aviation, highway and railway.

In the first half of 2026, the import and export list of cross-border e-commerce at Beijing Daxing Airport port increased by 47.2% year-on-year, and the cumulative operation of China Europe freight trains at Shijiazhuang International Land Port increased by 22.6% year-on-year. The linkage between the two hubs has just filled the last gap of the previous high-speed cross-border cargo idle railway.

One stop service unleashes foreign trade dividends

The newly launched China Europe freight train service center integrates global logistics resources and provides full chain services for foreign trade enterprises, from booking and customs clearance to full tracking, truly realizing one commission, full process, and one order to the end. In the past, enterprises needed to connect with two independent systems of airports, land ports, and repeatedly submit multiple sets of customs declaration materials. Now, all procedures can be completed at the service center.

According to calculations by the port departments of Beijing and Hebei, after the new channel is put into use, the transit time for high-value cross-border e-commerce goods from Daxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone to boarding the China Europe freight train will be reduced by 60% compared to the previous model, and the comprehensive logistics cost per box will decrease by about 15%. Fresh produce, precision electronics and other time sensitive goods can also be stably shipped to the Central Asian and European markets through this channel. Keywords: Cross border logistics, air land multimodal transport

This new air land multimodal transport channel jointly built by Beijing and Hebei is not a simple physical superposition of two hubs, but a deep institutional innovation in the cross-border logistics field through the coordinated development of Beijing Tianjin Hebei. It not only extends the aviation hub advantage of Daxing Airport, but also covers the entire Beijing Tianjin area with the radiation radius of the Shijiazhuang China Europe freight train, providing a new overseas path for foreign trade enterprises in North China that balances cost and efficiency, injecting real new momentum into the region's high-level opening-up to the outside world.Editor/Cheng Liting
