At the construction site of the grid type energy storage power station outside the Dongsu Substation in Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia, the last 5MWh energy storage cabinet has completed grid connection debugging, and the blue energy storage array is neatly laid out in the sunshine of the grassland. With the full capacity grid connection of these two projects, the world's largest single grid type lithium iron phosphate independent energy storage power station has officially landed in Ximeng, installing the core stabilizer of a new power system for this region with the highest density of new energy installations in the country.
Large capacity grid energy storage landed in Ximeng
This key project with a total scale of 4GWh, with a total investment of about 3 billion yuan and a total land area of 420 acres, is fully equipped with 800 sets of 5MWh energy storage cabinets independently developed by Star Charging Full Stack. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of August 2026.

After the project is put into operation, it can stably discharge about 1 billion kilowatt hours per year, which can effectively stabilize the intermittent fluctuations of local wind and photovoltaic power. Unlike traditional grid connected energy storage, this grid based system has the core capabilities of active frequency regulation, voltage regulation, and islanding operation. When the power grid fails, it can respond quickly in milliseconds, avoiding the risk of large-scale power outages. By 2026, the installed capacity of new energy in Inner Mongolia has exceeded 180 million kilowatts, and the large-scale implementation of energy storage has directly solved the stability problem of high proportion of new energy grid connection, providing key support for regional energy security and green power consumption.
