Underneath the Bohai Sea lies an important oil and gas treasure trove in eastern China. The first phase of the Bohai 19-6 gas field project has been fully put into operation, with a daily oil and gas equivalent of over 5200 tons, converting the huge reserves buried deep in the seabed into tangible energy supply and providing stable gas sources for the Bohai Rim region.

Tackling Deep Sea Development
Bozhong 19-6 is located in the central waters of the Bohai Sea, with proven geological reserves of over 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas and over 200 million cubic meters of petroleum liquids. The gas field is buried at a depth of over 5000 meters, and the reservoir fractures are intricate and complex. The first phase completed 10 ultra deep wells over 6000 meters, with an average drilling depth of over 5500 meters, breaking the record for ultra deep wells in Bohai Oilfield. The technical team has overcome the difficulty of extracting micro scale cracks and built a development system for offshore ultra deep buried hill oil and gas reservoirs, using a cyclic gas injection development model to improve recovery efficiency. Guarding the gas supply in the protected area
As the largest offshore gas field in eastern China, this field has produced over 2.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas cumulatively. Faced with the resource pattern of more natural gas in the west and less in the east in China, the project effectively supports the gas demand in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Bohai Rim regions, fills the gap in natural gas supply in the eastern region, and consolidates the foundation of regional energy security.Editor/Min Jing
