In the wave of computing power layout from the east to the west, Kuitun in northern Xinjiang has jumped out of the homogenized track of nationwide clustering of general computing power leasing. A differentiated liquid cooled intelligent computing base that focuses on domestic chip machine testing completed the bidding announcement in just 107 days, paving a new path for Xinjiang's computing power infrastructure to revitalize its inventory and achieve precise positioning.

The renovation of old factory buildings has reached a new pace of construction

The Kuitun Yaochen Cloud Intelligent Computing Center Project, Section 001, was awarded to a consortium consisting of China Railway 20th Bureau Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd. and Zhongxingsheng Engineering Design Co., Ltd. with a bid amount of 90 million yuan. The project adopts a full process EPC general contracting model, covering construction drawing design, on-site construction, mechanical and electrical installation, completion acceptance, and full cycle operation and maintenance in the later stage. The project strictly follows the current building regulations of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, ensuring quality and safety standards throughout the entire process.

The project is located in the North District of Kuitun Tianbei New Industrial Park, which is completely different from another local intelligent computing industrial park with a total investment of 899 million yuan. The construction entities, positioning, and models of the two projects are completely independent. By relying on the upgrading and renovation of existing idle industrial plants, the lengthy civil construction cycle of traditional data center land acquisition and construction is eliminated, and mature municipal supporting facilities in the park are reused. This not only revitalizes existing industrial assets, but also significantly reduces infrastructure investment, fully in line with the national policy orientation of revitalizing existing computing infrastructure. During the renovation process, customized upgrades were made to the load-bearing capacity, fire partition, dust and waterproof aspects of the high-power liquid cooled computer room to fully meet the strict operating standards of high-end intelligent computing rooms.

Differentiated positioning fills the gap in computing power in northern Xinjiang

The project plans to deploy 140 50kW high-power cold plate liquid cooled cabinets, which are equivalent to 2800 traditional IT cabinets based on the industry standard 2.5kW cabinet conversion. Among them, all 115 main cabinets are designed for the pre launch testing scenarios of domestically produced chips, undertaking core services such as post chip pressure testing, compatibility testing, and power stability testing. The remaining cabinets respectively carry their own business deployment and network security operation and maintenance equipment for the entire network.

Compared with traditional air cooling, cold plate liquid cooling technology can directly remove high-density heat from servers, perfectly supporting 50kW ultra-high single cabinet power consumption, with higher heat dissipation efficiency and lower energy consumption. The project is synchronized with a complete set of UPS uninterruptible power supply, precision air conditioning, and high and low voltage power distribution facilities, creating a high-performance computing power center with 30000 loads. In addition to the core business of service chip testing, it can also output computing power externally, covering multiple scenarios such as AI inference, industrial simulation, and big data computing. Jumping out of the homogenized competition of general computing power, the Kuitun intelligent computing center has created a new sample for the layout of computing power in northern Xinjiang through the short path transformation of old factories and differentiated positioning of chip testing.
