The demand for coastal port construction in West Africa continues to be released, and CHEC has successively won orders for two major port projects in Guinea and Cote d'Ivoire. While ensuring the stable operation of the iron ore export channel and filling in the hardware gaps of the shipping hub, the two orders further solidify the company's competitive position in the West African infrastructure market.

Guinea Channel Dredging
The maintenance dredging project in Simandou, Guinea, which won the bid this time, is located at the mouth of the Maribaya River. The total length of the waterway is 22.6 kilometers, the bottom width of the waterway is 250 meters, and the dredging volume is 25.4 million cubic meters. The Simandou iron mine has 4.4 billion tons of high-grade iron ore resources, with a long-term production capacity of up to 120 million tons per year. The Maribaya Port, as the core shipping channel, directly determines the efficiency of iron ore transportation. CHEC has previously completed the construction of new docks and waterways. This maintenance dredging will reduce the impact of siltation and achieve full lifecycle service guarantee for the port.

Ivory Coast Port Expansion
The AGL container terminal project in Cote d'Ivoire is located in the Songon area of Abidjan, with plans to build a new 200 meter container terminal, a 13 hectare yard, and supporting projects such as building roads and channel dredging. The Port of Abidjan is a key shipping hub in West Africa, responsible for the transshipment of imported and exported goods from multiple countries. With the increase in regional trade scale, the pressure on port hardware supply has become prominent. After the project is implemented, it will fill the gaps in local infrastructure and strengthen the position of Abidjan Port as a regional shipping hub.
New opportunities in the West African market
The consecutive landing of two projects reflects the concentrated release of demand for upgrading ports in West Africa. The iron ore export channel brings continuous maintenance and dredging needs, and the construction of a combined operation and maintenance model opens up long-term business space. Keywords: West African ports, infrastructure going global

CHEC relies on regional deep cultivation layout to achieve comprehensive coverage of port construction and operation and maintenance business. For Chinese enterprises, the West African dredging terminal construction market has broad opportunities, and the reputation accumulated through long-term localized operation is more valuable in the long run compared to short-term bidding. As the project progresses, it will also continue to drive the development of coastal trade and resource industries in West Africa.Editor/Min Jing
