On August 30th, Serbian President Vu č i ć attended the opening ceremony of the newly constructed 28 kilometer section of the Danube Corridor Expressway project undertaken by Chinese enterprises. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Serbia, Mali, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Sofronyevich, the Acting Charg é d'affaires of the Embassy in Serbia, Zhang Zhe, and representatives of relevant enterprises and media attended the meeting.
In his speech, President Vu č i ć stated that the Danube Corridor Expressway project is of great significance for the connectivity between central and eastern Serbia. It will inject new momentum into the development of regional industry and tourism, attract foreign investment, and also benefit the well-being of local residents.

Zhang Zhe, the Charg é d'affaires ad interim, said that in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China Serbia iron friendship has been deepening. The Danube Corridor project is another important achievement and strong witness of China Serbia high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road. We hope that this road, which carries the friendship and cooperation between China and Serbia, can facilitate the travel of Serbian people, help local economic development, and add new impetus to the pragmatic cooperation between China and Serbia. The Danube Corridor Expressway runs from Pozarevac to Golubats, with a total length of 68 kilometers. It is constructed by Shandong Expressway Group and started construction in 2021. After the 28 kilometer opening, the entire line will be basically connected.
